Short Bio

My passion is New Zealand, and as Director of Agrifood Business I lead the university’s initiatives in growing the agrifood economy. My focus is the agribusiness sector generally as well as the enterprises that make up the agrifood value chain. This is consistent with my research programme for the last 20 years, where I have examined the economic and social contributions that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) make to New Zealand. I am a Past President of the Small Enterprise Association of Australia and New Zealand (SEAANZ) and formerly Senior Vice President of the International Council for Small Business (ICSB).
